Bobby Ross coached college football at The Citadel, Maryland, Georgia Tech, and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. His Georgia Tech team won the National Championship in 1990. He then became coach of the San Diego Chargers in the NFL and took his team to Super Bowl XXIX in 1994. He finished his NFL coaching career with the Detroit Lions in 2000. He then returned to the NCAA, coaching the Army Black Knights at West Point until his retirement in 2007. Coach Ross is from Richmond, VA and attended Benedictine High School. He played quarterback and was captain of the Virginia Military Institute football team his senior year in 1959. It was an honor to have Coach Ross back on campus to share his knowledge of the game and NFL coaching with us.
