Middle School Soccer Wins First Game Against Richmond's Collegiate School 2-0
The FUMA Middle School soccer team came out strong in our first game against Collegiate School, and earned a well-deserved 2-0 victory. The coaches expressed pride for the players, particularly with their on-field communication, passing, and pressure on the ball. The first score came late in the first half, with a great touch right in front of the goal from Christopher Merlo. The defense, led by Daniel Samurin and Brennan Stone, then did a nice job holding the lead until later in the second half when cadet Gonzalo Bobadilla made a beautiful outside shot into the top right corner of the net. Joseph Pham did a nice job in goal for FUMA. Also impressive was midfield play from Blake Chiovaro and Chasyn Yescas.
