Steve Stirling visit
Today, Dec. 5, Middle School students were treated to our first Christian Leadership Series speaker of this academic year. The CLS program was proposed to FUMA by trustee Dave Barrett, and has brought several excellent speakers to campus.
Our guest speaker, Mr. Steve Stirling, spoke at both the Upper and Middle School chapel services.
Here is a brief bio on Mr. Stirling:
Steven G. Stirling is the Executive Vice President/CAO of ChildFund International ( http://www.childfund.org), a non-profit organization working to fund orphanages and help children around the world. The organization currently works in 30 countries worldwide, working with approximately 18.1 million children and their family members. Before joining ChildFund, Mr. Stirling spent five years with World Vision as a Vice President for that organization. Prior to entering the non-profit arena, Mr. Stirling worked in the healthcare industry from 1982-1999. Mr. Stirling is married to Sook Hee, and the couple has two adult children.
Mr. Stirling, who contracted polio at a young age, lived in an orphanage in South Korea from age 6 until his adoption by a couple in Alaska. It is through these life experiences that Mr. Stirling has developed a heart for helping children in need around the world.
