Middle School Soccer (Grades 6&7) beats Grymes Memorial 3-2
On a drizzly, muddy field, the FUMA Middle School soccer team (grades 6&7) squeaked by with a 3-2 win against Grymes Memorial School. Despite the wet conditions, the guys came out strong in the first half, taking advantage of a few mistakes by their opponents and quickly taking a 3-0 lead. The first goal came from our first penalty kick, with a nice shot to the top right of the net. Our second and third goals came in quick succession. After leading by three, the team got a bit lackadaisical, and Grymes roared back with a quick goal before the half, and a quick goal after halftime. FUMA held on to the lead by the skin of our teeth, and a bit of help from the goal crossbar. A win is a win, and we now look to pull two games over .500 on Thursday, 4:00pm at home against STAB.
