The Catholic Cadet Association (CCA) had a busy weekend performing Community Service on Saturday at the Sts. Peter & Paul-St. Joseph’s/Shrine Church Craft Bazaar in Palmyra, VA. From 9 am to 2 pm, Cadets greeted patrons and sold 50/50 Raffle Tickets to raise money for their small church, St. Joseph’s/Shrine of St. Katharine Drexel, in Columbia, VA. At 2 pm the heavy work began as the Bazaar area was cleared of merchandise and tables were moved or put away – in record time. The folks at the Church truly appreciated the help from the young FUMA Cadets more than the Cadets can realize. One of the Knights of Columbus gave them money to buy ice cream at the Palmyra Country Store afterward, and that was a great reward and a wonderful way to end a tiring day! The next morning, it was up and off to 9 am Mass at St. Joseph’s/Shrine Church in Columbia. Our thanks to God for bringing us together and allowing us to love and serve the Lord and one another.
