Orienteering in Oxford, OH
The FUMA Orienteering Team competed in Oxford, OH, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It was the first national meet for a number of cadets, and several also moved up in age brackets. Friday’s event featured a unique course alternating between woods and the Miami University Campus. Saturday saw James Hemenway become the first cadet to complete an Ultra Long at the collegiate level. James ran a course of over 13 km. Robert Baird also completed a long course on only his second event at the high school varsity level. In between competitions, the team completed the required study halls to keep the cadets current with their academics, and also found time to tour the Museum of the Air Force and enjoy some fine food.
