Five FUMA cadet Band members were selected to participate in the Longwood Honors Band held at Longwood University in Farmville Virginia 8 and 9 January 2009. Ryan Sims, Ben Wood, Alex Terry, Cody Peck and Dondre Jackson experienced performing with professional trombonist Matt Niess who is serving with the US Army Blues Jazz Ensemble based in Washington, DC in a concert that was enjoyed by a crowd of 500.
