Our eagle-eyed athletic trainer, Rich Taddei, and athletic department secretary, Henri Cobb, spotted an unusual sight in a tree just behind the football field / parade ground. Thought at first to be a bald eagle, a closer look revealed the bird of prey to be an osprey. Once endangered by pesticides twenty years ago, the population of ospreys is recovering and the Chesapeake Bay area boasts nearly 2,000 nesting pairs. It was a treat to see this one so far inland.
